In today’s society, it’s pretty normal to question things based on how relevant or appropriate they are. I think it’s great that more conversations are happening about topics that weren’t really discussed before.
Gender roles are always changing, and right now, we’re doing better than ever at creating equal opportunities for everyone, even though we still have a long way to go in treating each other fairly.
Not too long ago, gender roles were much stricter. There were things that women just couldn’t do, and men often avoided certain tasks because they were worried about what others would think.
As I mentioned, it seems like we’re making progress as a society every year, but there’s still a lot of work ahead. At least people are more aware now, and if you need proof, just look at a recent viral picture that sparked a ton of comments.
When we were kids, how many of us thought that all doctors were guys and all nurses were girls? I can honestly say that whenever I imagined a doctor, he was always a man. And when I went to see a nurse, I expected a woman to be there.
A long time ago, it was mostly true that doctors and nurses were usually men and women, but things have changed a lot in the medical world. Now, when you go for a check-up, you can easily see both male and female doctors or nurses.
