For the first six years of her life, Lucy, who has Down syndrome, was raised by her grandfather and grandmother.
Happily, this predicament did not go on for an extended amount of time. Lucy came from China and was adopted by a family in the United States who raised her with love and affection. Her adoptive family was worried when she finally arrived since they did not sure how their little daughter would respond or how she would manage with her new surroundings, especially considering that she had been raised in an institution from birth.
Before they finally got to meet their daughter, Lucy’s adoptive parents, Brent and Audrey Shuk, were filled with butterflies. In spite of the fact that they already had five biological children, the couple believed that there was place in their hearts for any more kid.
The first time Lucy encounters them is at the airport in Houston, Texas, where she is accompanied by her family upon her arrival in her current country. Upon her arrival, she hesitantly looks about, and when she finally has the chance to meet her new parents, she is overtaken with emotion.
As Audrey rushes to see her new daughter, whose feelings have already seized control, she is also overcome with emotion. On the other hand, Lucy then makes a statement that causes everyone to shed tears. The little youngster clearly murmured the word “MOM” at that time, despite the fact that it was impossible for her to communicate anything at all.
Everyone was captivated by the narrative, and the couples were both astonished and happy by both of their reactions.
